I wanted to reach out to you today with an update to our church mask policy. As you probably know, the state of California has changed the requirements. Over the past two years as a church board, we have followed the health directives, and that policy has served us well. Beginning immediately, here are our new health guidelines:
~ If you are vaccinated, you are not required to wear a mask. ~ If you are not vaccinated, we recommend that you do wear a mask.
As your pastor, I want to thank you for your cooperation through all the changes that we have been through together over the past 2 years. While the virus is still active in our region, this is an encouraging step back toward normalcy.
Here are some helpful reminders:
If you are sick, please worship from home! We have significantly improved our online worship experience. We have added the TV on stage so you can see the screen. Each week we post the sermon notes online so you can download them and follow along. We also now have an online “Connect Card” and “This Week at Southpointe” available for our online worshippers. Take advantage of these benefits if you are unable to join us in person.
Please feel free to wear a mask if you are more comfortable doing so or if your doctor makes that recommendation for you. We will have masks available at the information desk if needed. These guidelines will apply to both children and adults. We have no plans to ask about anyone’s vaccination status. We will post our updated guidelines and request for them to be followed.
Coming through this challenging season, one of our biggest needs as a church is to strengthen our connections with each other. We need to be connected to other believers! My goal, this spring, is to help make that happen here at Southpointe.
We are launching a new way to connect - “Wednesday Night Connect”. This will be a time to enjoy a meal together, pray, worship together, and connect through fellowship with others. I hope you will take advantage of these gatherings! Our first Wednesday Night Connect will be on Wednesday, February 23, at 6 pm. These events are scheduled for the last Wednesday of each month, through the end of spring.
Other connection opportunities include the re-launching of our Connect Groups this spring, along with our Men’s and Women's Bible studies.
Mark your calendars for Sunday, March 27, for our Annual Celebration and Vision Night! On this night, we will elect new Board Members, celebrate what God has done over the past year, and share about the vision that God has given us for the future of Southpointe. I hope you will join us!
It is a great privilege to serve as your pastor! I pray that God will lead us into a new season of blessing and growth in the spring of 2022.
Your pastor and friend –
Pastor Brent
